I have a 40 acre farm in Northern Utah and will be experimenting with planting different food plots for Mule Deer. There aren't very much info out there on the subject so i guess its trial and error from here. Im a whitetail hunter from back east and there is a ton of food plot options for whitetails, im trying to apply some of that to Mule Deer and see what happens. I planted Winter Rye, Red Clover and Winter Peas last October and it is starting to come up nice now. I plan on planting Soybean into the standing Rye, Red Clover and Peas this May. Ill post pics as i go to show the progress and how the deer are repsonding to the food plots. In the area im in, the only food source is Alfalfa. These deer have never tasted Red Clover, Peas or Soybeans before, so it should be interesting to see how they take it.
