Story from I don’t know where, but good reading:

——————————————

Good Morning,

I just wanted to share with you an amazing end to a great 2007 hunting season. Yesterday I was sitting in my stand on a small food plot just off Colly Swamp in Bladen County . I was enjoying a beautiful sunset and hoping that I might get one more opportunity at a doe to take to the butcher for processing. Then I spotted some movement in a corner of the food plot that was partially blocked from my view by some trees. I was able to tell that a mature doe with two button bucks entered the food plot but I did not think that they would move into an open area for a shot before dark. Suddenly all three deer became alarmed and began looking toward the woods where they had entered the field. The doe then blew at whatever was approaching and turned and bounded into the middle of the field followed by the two smaller deer. Well this gave me a clear line of sight at the doe so I put my crosshairs on her. I started to squeeze the trigger but then I began to wonder if it could be a big Buck that was making the deer nervous. Then the three deer all blew and ran a little further across the food plot, stopped again and looked back on full alert. Well I decided that it was most likely not a buck that had them startled so I shot the doe. When I shot, the two button bucks ran away while simultaneously a 20 pound bobcat ran into the field and put the death lock on the neck of the doe I had just shot. Amazed by what I had just seen, I shucked another (also my last) shell into the chamber. I could not believe that the bobcat was still there after the sound of the shot and me reloading but he had locked onto a big meal and did not intend to give it up. BobcatI put the cat in the crosshairs and squeezed off my last round, he did not flinch. I thought I had missed him. I sat still for a little while and then I yelled at the cat to see if he was still alive, I got not reaction. I climbed down from my stand and approached the two animals in the field. The Bobcat still had a death grip on the doe and was looking right at me as I approached, with an empty gun. What I saw amazed me. The Bobcat was stone cold dead but he still maintained his grip on the doe. I called everyone at camp to come look and take pictures. When it was time to load the doe in the truck we had to load both the doe and the bobcat because I could not separate them.

you are a coward and a horrible person. god will test you one day. how puny you are with a weapon – a gun and killing an innocent cat that has not ben given a fair fight. go next time without the gun and westle the cat. I hope it wins. its ok- your time will come

No you are a coward! Where’s your name? Are you too cowardly to tell the world who is standing up for a belief? The blade of a warrior bears no significance without the warrior. Hunting is just a way of life for some folks. If anything your “God” will punish you for judging! Love thy neighbor as thyself…ring any bells??? Worry not about the mote in thine brothers eye but the beam in your own! God made us all different and with that comes differing points of view and therefor different opinions. So until you’ve walked a mile in someone else’s shoes who believes differently from you. Keep your petty comments to yourself. God Bless and have a great day mr./mrs. noname!

i hunt and fish and woke this morning to a 10 pound bobcat in my front yard innocently enough it was stocking a wild rabbit but when i walked onto the pourch and the cat looked right up at me and didnt spoke off or show any kind of fear towards me i let him talk to the business end of my rugger 10 22 call it what you want but givin i live less then a block from city limits being little rock ark and with kidds playing everyday in y yard im not taking any chances and after notifying arkansas game and fish there bioligist told me i did the correct thing by taking the cats life because it showed no fear for humans and would likely be prone to attacking a child or dog or cat what do you have to say about that no name ??? would you let your children play in a yard knowing they could be attacked by a bobcat ? how about you go watch the videos on you tube and see for your self what a bobcat is capable of before you bad mouth a hunter or another person for that matter

I dislike people who kill innocent animal’s If the cat attacked you okay if u defended urself with a gun but you killed a wild animal who did not try to attack you. What is man without a gun? Jump into a swamp infested with Alligators with no gun’s lets see how tough you are then!

  8. Either all animals are innocent, or none of them are innocent- particularly predators. In either case there is killing and eating or just killing for fun. Your post was edited because of personal attacks. Refrain from attacks in the future.

Hunting is a way of life, god put animals here so man can eat, you have to kill it before you can grill it.
