Per the admin comment, a mountain lion killing a person, or for that matter even 1,000 people a year has no impact on biodiversity. Biodiversity is already defined. If you don’t agree with it, that’s your issue, perhaps like thinking the world is flat. People die in huge numbers every day around the globe, primarily from things like malaria, parasites, AIDS, starvation, war, murder, heart attack, stroke, cancer, car accidents, the list goes on for a long time before you get to “mountain lion.” Biodiversity is a reality. If folks choose not to believe in it, that’s fine, however, the effects are real, like it or not. Every time you lose a species, new life moves into that slot, and with that move comes new diseases, and new microbes. All the tough talk and guns in the world don’t save you from a microbe, and that goes for Ted Nugent too – it goes for everyone.

The odds of being killed by a mountain lion are so small that anyone who blames liberals for giving these great cats a chance is a major-league idiot. You will most certainly die in a car crash, of cancer, a gun shot, of heart attack, a stroke, or 100 other causes long before a mountain lion disemblowels you on a trail. Focus on what’s important. These animals and animals also on the decline like sharks and ocean fish will seriously impact our ability to maintain control over this planet’s ecosystems and more importantly, the planet’s microorganisms. Instead of spending 15 minutes listening to Rush, take that time to review what happens when ecosystems break down – disease strolls into the new void and quickly mutates to impact the human race. There are plenty of moronic liberals trying to “save the planet.” However, there are also cold hard facts associated with things like loss of biodiversity. It takes very little time to read up on these things, just make sure you read from peer-reviewed sources or authors that have developed theories via international peer review.

If the bear killed the *&$%^hunter, in accordance with your wishes, what would that do to biodiversity? If we could all agree on the definition for biodiversity, and we can’t, some of us would want it and some wouldn’t. What makes biodiversity rich? Would it be more or less rich without one *&$%^ hunter? You kind of seem to be in charge, or want to be…..how did you get the right to control everything? How many lions would it take for you to say there are enough, since you have assumed the role of decision maker? I am afraid there are a few loopholes in your “unbiased” opinion.
